Aurora stifles Lindsay's comeback, gains 4-2 victory
The Aurora Tigers came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Lindsay Muskies, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory.
Aurora led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Tigers' Mike Sones' scored at 16:29 in the second period to put Aurora up 4-1.
The Tigers got the win behind a great game by Robert Angiolella, who had two goals and one assist. Angiolella scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. Aurora earned a power play opportunity when Josh Miller was put in the box for head contact. Kory Kennedy assisted on the tally. Angiolella's next tally on the power play made the score 3-1 Aurora with 16:04 left in the second period. A tripping penalty on Brian Hubers had put the Tigers on the power play. Mihkel Poldma provided the assist.
Aurora also got a goal from Daniel Clairmont as well. In addition, Aurora received assists from Tyler Shaw, Tanner Shaw, Taylor McCloy, and Dylan Wallace, who each chipped in one.
Aurora was unable to stop Lindsay from sending pucks towards the net, and the Muskies eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.
Lindsay was helped by Louis-David Bourgault, who had one goal. Bourgault scored 17:34 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Aurora. Felix Chamberland assisted on the tally. Vince Herlihey also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Dean Klomp, who had one.
Kevin Entmaa made 32 saves for the Tigers on 34 shots. Aurora incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tanner Davis recorded 24 saves for the Muskies. Lindsay incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
