Derek comes to the Golden Hawks from the Alliston Hornets last year’s Schmalz Cup Finalists. Prior to Alliston, Derek played Junior A for the Collingwood Blues and the Aurora Tigers. Big, strong, mobile, heady, skilled, big shot, good passer and agile are all words to describe his game.  From Utopia, Derek is a good student who aspires to play U.S. College hockey. His achievements include being selected in the 5th round of the OHL Priority Selection and being selected best defenseman in the league and on his team. Interests include playing lacrosse, wakeboarding and snowboarding.
